Rose and Thorns

This image depicts the choice to leave pain and the past behind and take the beauty that has sprung from it with you into a new day, with new opportunities. To embrace the light is very difficult, because inside we always feel we need to have pain before we allow ourselves to be happy. To see the beauty in pain and sadness and to take only the part with us that makes us realize how beautiful life can be is the start of a new dawn. We do not need to stay in the dark, we can come out into the light and show ourselves. 

Rapunzel, the inspiration source for this image, does the same, when she exits the tower and steps through the portal into a new life.

Her long hair shows how long she has been waiting to be able to make this crucial step.

I made the hair with a brush for starters but have liquified this time and time again to get the final effect you are seeing.
